Mindful Walking

  • What was your focus (eg. Sole of the foot, feet touching the ground, movement of the legs etc )
  • What did you observe (eg. Floor felt cold , ground was rough, feeling of weight transfer etc )

Mindful Sitting

  • What was your focus (eg. Breathing, Rising and falling of the chest, Sitting posture etc )
  • What did you observe (eg. Cold Breath going in, Warm breath coming out etc )

I focus on my movement of legs and felt the ground was cold. a good session to continue

I Felt good, calm and cleared my mind. I didn't make a noise . It was a nice experience and a nice feeling. I like to do More.

Mindful Walking: My focus for the mindful walking was the soles of my feet touching the ground. I had many different distractions during my mindful walking, such as thinking about a novel I was writing for a project, or a show that I was watching, but I always brought my focus back to my feet. The only other thing that I noticed was that the arc area of my foot was touching the ground more than it normally does. 

 

Mindful Sitting: My focus was the rising of my stomach. I found that I was able to focus very well this time. Because of this, I felt very good during the meditation and after it.

In mindful walking I had a problem, I had a headache. When I did Mindful walking I closed my eyes, when I closed my eyes my headache stopped. After a few minutes I realised that when I closed my eyes I didn't get distracted. When I closed my eyes I couldn't see so I had to feel where I was going and I had to monitor that I was going straight so I won't bump into things. In mindful sitting I also had a problem my legs were hurting so I made a routine, 2 breaths then I would tense and relax my legs. Because I made a routine I have to count 2 breaths (in and out) then I would tense and relax my legs a little bit.

Mindful Walking When I was doing mindful walking I walked for around 20 steps before getting distracted.To bring my self back to concentrating I started to observe what sensations I felt on the sole of my foot.I observed how the tile cold and how my feet were aching.I soon realized that I was walking at an unsteady pace so I slowed down to a steadier pace.After it was time to do mindful sitting. Mindful Sitting When I was doing mindful sitting I focused on my breath for about 17 breaths before getting distracted because of an itch on my arm.I tried to not concentrate on the itch and tried to come back to concentrating on my breath.After a minute any thoughts of the itch was fully out of my mind.Soon I started to get distracted but I once again came back to concentrating on my breath.A while later the bell rang.

Mindful Walking
Today in mindful walking I tried to focus on my lower part of my body, specifically my feet. At the start it was hard to focus on my feet but later on it got easier. When I couldn’t feel my feet, my breath was prominent. Bhante, is it ok to focus on your breath even while doing walking?

Mindful Sitting
In mindful sitting, I could focus on the breath. When I was breathing in, I felt cool air. When I was breathing out, I could feel warmer air. Near the end of my sitting, my breath out started to get colder and more refreshing. My mindfulness wayward very little throughout the session.

Mindful Walking
When I started walking, the heel of my foot was hitting the floor hard. then as I walk it became softer. I observed the sound of my foot and I was paying attention to it. I felt the floor was cold. when my sound of foot got softer, I couldn't observe it anymore, and got distracted by seeing my cat. Then I started to think about food.

Mindful Sitting
When I started, I was not sitting comfortably and moved myself for a bit. I tried to observe my breath. After I sat still, I was listening to the sound horns of the cars and all the sounds of the cars moving and birds. My mind said they were saying 'win win'. I noticed I forgot about my breath when I was listening to the sounds.

As the bell began, I drew my focus onto my nose, trying hard to not get distracted by the outside noises. As I meditated, I focused on the air coming through both nostrils although the air exited from my left nostril. I focused on this for the rest of the session, although my mind consistently wondered because of the continuous outside noises. Each time my mind would come back once that thought ends. whenever a loud noise could be heard, my thoughts would go onto wondering what made that sound and how did it happen once the thought is about to end, my mind would then go back into the present moment. After coming back from the thought, I would start my breathing again, monitoring how my breaths were long and soft.
